el marco del D\u00eda Mundial de las Tortugas Marinas, el Gobierno Municipal de Isla Mujeres, que encabeza la alcaldesa Atenea G\u00f3mez Ricalde, refrenda su compromiso de preservar esta especie tan emblem\u00e1tica del municipio.<\/span><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A trav\u00e9s de la Direcci\u00f3n de Medio Ambiente y Ecolog\u00eda, se promueve la educaci\u00f3n ambiental y se refuerzan las acciones de vigilancia mediante el Campamento Tortuguero de Isla Mujeres, durante la temporada de anidaci\u00f3n de la tortuga marina, que comprende del 15 de mayo al 15 de octubre.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La dependencia destac\u00f3 que las tortugas marinas juegan un papel vital en la salud de los manglares; tambi\u00e9n inform\u00f3 que se ha logrado proteger hasta el momento un total de 51 nidos de tortugas marinas, con ayuda de voluntarios y personal de la dependencia.<\/span><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De acuerdo con cifras proporcionadas por la Direcci\u00f3n de Medio Ambiente y Ecolog\u00eda, se resguardan hasta el momento 31 nidos de Tortuga Caguama, 16 nidos de Tortuga Blanca y 4 nidos de Tortuga Carey.<\/span><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Adem\u00e1s, en lo que va de la temporada se ha resguardado a 6 mil 089 huevos de estas especies, con 3 mil, 578 huevos de Tortuga Caguama, 1 mil 949 de Tortuga Blanca y 562 de Tortuga Carey.<\/span><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Por \u00faltimo, la dependencia exhort\u00f3 a las isle\u00f1as e isle\u00f1os a sumarse a la protecci\u00f3n de esta especie, realizando cualquier reporte o denuncia a la l\u00ednea directa del Tortucel
