R., a 30 de enero de 2026.- En un acto que reafirma el compromiso con la protecci\u00f3n ambiental y la conservaci\u00f3n de la biodiversidad en la ciudad, el director general de Ecolog\u00eda, Fernando Haro Salinas, en representaci\u00f3n de la Presidenta Municipal, Ana Paty Peralta, entreg\u00f3 reconocimientos a los participantes del Programa de Protecci\u00f3n y Conservaci\u00f3n de las Tortugas Marinas 2025, y, en dicho marco, present\u00f3 el informe final de resultados de la temporada.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En ese sentido, el funcionario destac\u00f3 que Canc\u00fan se consolid\u00f3 como la segunda zona del estado con mayor anidaci\u00f3n, al proteger 10 mil 438 nidos, resguardar m\u00e1s de 1.2 millones de huevos y liberar m\u00e1s de 1.1 millones de cr\u00edas de tortugas marinas durante este ciclo 2025.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Por lo anterior distingui\u00f3 el esfuerzo coordinado entre dependencias municipales, instituciones acad\u00e9micas, sector hotelero y tur\u00edstico, as\u00ed como voluntarios y ciudadan\u00eda, quienes hicieron posible la protecci\u00f3n de especies como la tortuga Blanca, Caguama y Carey.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Asimismo, resalt\u00f3 que la tortuga Verde (Chelonia mydas) ha mejorado su estatus global, al ser reclasificada por la UICN de \u201cEn peligro\u201d a \u201cPreocupaci\u00f3n menor\u201d, aunque en M\u00e9xico contin\u00faa protegida como especie en peligro de extinci\u00f3n conforme a la NOM-059-SEMARNAT-2010.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">M\u00e1s detalladamente, explic\u00f3 que como parte del programa, se llevaron a cabo 127 cursos de capacitaci\u00f3n te\u00f3rico-pr\u00e1cticos, beneficiando a 2 mil 735 personas, adem\u00e1s de 55 actividades de educaci\u00f3n ambiental que impactaron a 933 ciudadanos, fortaleciendo la cultura de conservaci\u00f3n en el destino tur\u00edstico.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Finalmente, al cierre del evento se realiz\u00f3 la entrega simb\u00f3lica de 10 reconocimientos, de un total de 120 otorgados, a representantes de dependencias municipales, la Universidad del Caribe y sectores hotelero y tur\u00edstico, en agradecimiento a su compromiso con la protecci\u00f3n de las tortugas
